A STYLISH BUT PRACTICAL KITCHEN FOR A GROWING FAMILY  West Wick, North Somerset

Laura and Courtney had lived in their new build in West Wick for a couple of years before realising that the kitchen wasn’t going to meet their future needs. Laura loves cooking, and wanted a space that allowed her to indulge in her passion whilst caring for two young children, and passing that passion on to them as they grow up. They came to idesign with architect’s plans for a substantial extension, and we helped them to turn their dreams into a reality.

The new kitchen and dining space are open and bright, clean and fresh, optimising the light that floods in through the ceiling. Together we selected a neutral colour palette in soft tones, that is both modern yet timeless. The quartz worktops are durable and hardwearing, and the handle-less, painted matt doors are easy to keep clean of sticky fingerprints. The darker unit that occupies the former kitchen space not only displays cherished pieces of china, but also houses Laura’s substantial collection of cookery books and tidily stores away all the children’s art and craft materials.

We wanted something a bit different with character that worked for us as a family… we absolutely love it. Everything is in the right place, and our kitchen is transformed.
